The serial no. on my Farmall indicates that it is a 1948 SUPER A. How can I identify whether it is a "CULTI-VISION" SUPER A? What is the difference between a culti-vision and a non-culti-vision?

Hi Bill, I thought Farmall built a high clearance
Super A for cultivating, in fact I know where there's one sitting in a junk yard. I had asked about it when I was looking at a garden tractor.
Is your tractor high clearance? I think the term culti-vision would apply to these tractors. A sweetcorn cannery that is not far from me that grows their own sweetcorn. They have modified Farmall H's and M's with high mounted tanks and have raised the seats and steering so they can spray the sweetcorn. Farmall's were the only tractors they used. Hal

My SA is an early 49, (I think) SN 250559. It looked original when I bought it in 1980. It still had the remains of the "Culti-Vision" decals.

Wasn't there a bi-focal cultivision for the older farmer?

Culti-Vision refers to the offset operator's station, allowing a better view of the row.

Bill: Absolutely no difference, that was just an advertising gimmick IH used for awhile. I don't even think anyone knows for sure which tractors or which years were decaled that way.

The cultivision started appearing on the decals in Mid-September, 1939.

Guy, Is there any way of knowing year by year how many A's were decaled and designated cultivision and how many weren"t? For some reason, I was under the false impression that "cultivision" began around 1941. And do you know the reason that some were designated cultivision and some were not, rather than designating them all cultivision?

Guy: Started in 39, but where did it end. Also I know of tractors from most years some with Culti-vission and some without. I suppose in the last 40 years we may have a lot of replacment decals. I've seen both A and SA with and without culti-vission decal. My uncle bought new a SA, late 40's and it had culti-vission decal complete with hydraulics.
