run 656 out of fuel

Hi i was just finishing up plowing yesterday and heading to the barn and going down the hill i ran out fuel so i walkind down got fuel dumped it in bleeded the filters than it stated to rain so i quit what is the easist way to finish bleeding it so i can get her to fire back

Rebleed the filters then crack the line on top of the pump till fuel runs bubble free their then crack ALL the injector lines and crank the engine till ya get fuel to most of the injectors then tighten the lines and start it .

Hey vet,

I assume he needs to crack the injector lines because he ran it out?? I have never ran mine out, but when I change the fuel filters I only prime the filters and crack the top pump line and it fires right up. Just wondering.

Steve: Yes, your assumption is correct. That one can on rare ocasions play a few tricks on you and you may have to go the whole proceedure. Never hurts to know how.

I always found my 656 quite easy, 560 could be a bit more difficult. My 560 was one of the last built in 63 and 656 was a 67 model. Same engine and system but 656 does have some minor improvments.
