Are there any real major differences between the 706 gas and 756 gas tractors. I thought they were both the same other than model number. Just checkin----THANKS

Early 706's had the C-263 gas engine or the D-282 glowplug diesel. Later 706's had the C-291 gas or the D-310 German diesel, same engines as 756. The main difference between the two tractors is the shifting. 756 has a much improved shift linkage/ shift pattern. If I had to choose between a 706 and a 756, I would take the 756, for that reason alone.

The clutch and Brake peddles have a different curve in them I don't remember which way without going out and looking at mine ( I have both ), one you push more forward the other more down.

706 gas had the 263 cu in motor at about 72 hp. The 756 had the 291 cu in motor at about 75.6 hp. 756 had a more comfortable larger deck; most had hydraulic seat; had smoother shifting pattern-could shift from high range to reverse almost like a shuttle (or r to low); most 756's had the tilt steering wheel...
