I recently purchased a IH Model 584 tractor and I am interested in putting a front end loader on it. The problem is it only has one hydraulic connection in the rear. Is there a kit or some other way to add the hydraulic lines needed to run the loader? Also, I believe from what I've seen a model 2250 loader is what this tractor needs? Is this correct? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi, examined my brothers 495 with 2250 and it as Bernard and others say, pressure line in comes from plug by remote control valve at right of seat and return goes to plug under right axle.

BTW 2250 is a great loader but put weights on the rear if lifting heavy objects.

Good luck

You will have to add an aftermarket double spool control valve(mount on your loader). You could buy a factory double spool valve to replace your existing single spool valve, but they are big dollars.
You can mount your after market valve on the loader and simply plumb into the existing valve (there is a plug you remove on the plate end of the control valve). The return (out) line from your loader mounted valve goes into a port behind the right rear axle as TGIN had indicated.
The problem with this setup is that you have to wire your hydraulic lever on your existing control valve so that it is always in the "on" position for the oil to be pressurized to your loader mounted double spool valve. It will be squealing all the time and you have to disconnect the hose if you want use the rear remotes.
If you really want to have the right setup, go to your Case-IH dealer and purchase a "power beyond plate" for about $125. You just unbolt the existing plate(4 cap screws) from your existing valve and bolt the power beyond plate on. Screw your inlet hose from your loader valve to port on this plate. With this setup your existing factory valve can be operated independently from your loader valve(you can use your rear remotes anytime) and there is no wiring up control valve levers. The routing of the return (out) line does not change.
Hope this helps you.

On my 574 it gets it`s juice from a plug in the side of the control valve for the remotes to the loader valves then return into the rearend just below the axle housing . You will like the 2250 , get the joystick if you can .

Hi David, the IH loader that will fit on your tractor is a 1850 or a 2250. The 2250 is minute-mount. Check for a 1/2 steele pipe on the right side of the hitch cover, on the back of the remote control. It's the oil return from the remote, run a hose on the remote fitting, to the IN of the loader control and run a hose to the large plug under the right rear axle. Plug the steele pipe. It's the easy way to run a loader. Dealer will sold a plate and adapter that replace the end plate of the remote(3 or 4 bolts pattern) It's much expensive. Bernard le mécano Québec Canada

Plumb from remote to control valve, then to tank(trans hsing). I added a tee(11/4" X 3/4?) to hyd fill and screwed original fill plug in top.

Hi, my brother has a 2250 on his 495 which is one engine size smaller than 584. It has two hydraulic control valves mounted on the right hand loader frame. Neighbor had a 684 with cab and he had a joy stick type hydraulic control inside the cab and the valves were on the loader frame outside the cab.
The hydraulic lines come from a plug in the side of the transmission.

I will be seeing my brother tomorrow so will examine the hydraulic plumbing.
