I posted this in the tractor pulling forum already and got no responses. This is a working, farming tractor that I would possibly like to pull next month.

I have a 560 farmall I just finished the engine build (282D) It has a stock roosa master pump. What can I do if anything,to the pump to get a little more power out of it without increasing the rpm's. I already turned the rpm's up to around 2200 ,but it pulls back down to around 1800 to 1600 before I even get any smoke from the exhaust. The book shows the torque screw and the governor screw, Which one and how much and which way to turn them? I don't want to go plum radical on power but I think this setup should make 75 hp without hurting it. I havent dynoed it but pulling and working it ,I don't think it is making much over 50 or 60 hp. 75 hp would give me a little better chance at the local pull next month at the county fair,I am already so far over weight with wheel weights and fluid that I'll have to pull with the 90 hp boys, but it'll be fun anyway. Also ,would an other than stock pump timing help any? If so what setting?
Thanks

If I was you I would have the pump set for a D301 in a 715 combine. It will scream but will run 2400 RPM have read about guys having put the 715 engine in a 560 and it dynoes at 75 hp and runs down the road at 25 MPH. I have both a 715 with a D301 and a 560 with a D282 and the 301 seems like twice the engine
