Stuck Engine....not really

I picked up a H engine and was told the motor was stuck. The problem ended up being the starter was still engaged to the ring gear. I had the same thing happen to my Super C. You can not hand crank the engine over. Something people should check first.

That reminds me of when our "ace" mechanic at the garage installed new injectors into one of our trucks, it turned only one crank and stuck, they were so dumbfounded they called in a specialist from Cummings, turns out he put one of the injectors in too deep and the piston hit it before it could complete the stroke. LOL He still to this day can't live that one down.. LOL

Good catch! My Super C does the same thing occasionally. Some of the JD's (420 and others) did it as well. I once was given a "stuck" MTD riding lawnmower. Turned out to be that a previous owner had substituted a longer-reach sparkplug for the original. The plug hit the piston and wouldn't let the engine turn over. I put in the correct plug and have ran it for 3 years so far...
