Take a few minutes to check the valves. I had a problem like that on a Super M and when I finally adjusted the valves properly, most of the problems went away. Hope this helps.

If you're getting fuel then check your manifold for leaks. Make sure its on tight, the carb is bolted on tight and it hasn't rusted through somewhere.

Not sure how you cleaned your carb but you've got to strip it bare, remove all the jets and plugs and soak it in a good chemical carb cleaner over nite to loosen all the deposits and blow it out thoroughly with compressed air. Last one I did for a guy took 2 repetitions to clean up. Cleaning in gasoline or diesel won't cut the varnish. Make sure you have good fuel flow as others have said.

Check the fuel flow to the carburetor. It may be barley adequate. Common trouble spot is the valve in the tank getting flies or other crud into the holes the fuel flows through.
