Graduated college this spring, got married, worked on the farm for a couple of months and then FINALLY found teaching jobs way down here in sunny AZ. I'm teaching 6th grade and my wife is teaching 3rd, different schools in the same town. We are in Bullhead City - just across the Colorado River from Laughlin, Nevada. Tons of new things to see every day, living just below the mountain peaks in the desert.

Just letting everyone know that I left my tractors and engines behind for my career so I will be visiting this board and website a lot to try and keep my spirits up. Anyone near where I'm at? Right where AZ, NV, and CA meet...

Steven, I feel like I know you personally after the last 3 or 4 years of talking to you through the internet. Congratulations on your marriage and your graduation. I know you told me your Mom was a teacher. I put in 31 years in the profession, my Mom was a teacher and all three of my kids are teachers. I am now enjoying farming and of course my Farmalls. You just might get the urge to head home in a few years and teach in your own state and have a slice of farming and your old iron...best of luck to you both....Mike in Exeter Ontario

Congratulations on your latest ventures and your marriage. Your area is quite a change for you isn't it? The heat here isn't quite as bad but sometimes the humidity is 85-100%. So we are about even. My H is coming along fine. Don't know what I ever did without it. Have fun and enjoy.

I'll still be around, post an answer now and then when I'm pretty sure I know it, and of course add some comments...

I miss my H - at least I have a garage where I can work on my pickup now and then. When I go home for Christmas I think I'll bring an engine back to putter with...

Steven: Good luck to you and your wife on your new teaching positions. Winters should be a little less harsh in AZ. My best wishes go with you both.

Hugh, My idea of a "harsh winter" would be a winter without some old iron to get me out of the house.

Winters less harsh: yes

Summer? A LOT harsher, it is 115 degrees here today. Been around 108 all week and doesn't look like it's going to cool down for a while.

At 5 am it was already 95 degrees! The mild winter will make up for it - no snow, but can drive about 45 minutes and go skiing in the mountains!

Steven

We moved from NE to the south of NM for retirement purposes and health concerns. Should have brought a tractor. Would have been a 1939 M or the TO-30 Ferguson and some attatchments. Now all I do is fight with the wife.
