I have been purifying my tractors I have got rid of my massey's and have two cubs and a farmall H now. I have always wanted a IH 544 there is one on iron search in canada that looks very good, its a gas would preffer a diesel but I only farm about 5 acres so the gas is no big deal...plus I like the lower noise level of a gas engine. I can hear myself sing. I was wondering if anyone new the hassels of getting a tractor across the boarder I would want them to deliver.

Unlike shipping from the States to Canada, shipping from Canada to the States is relatively easy. Especially if the item was manufactured in the US - then as stated by Chad, there is no duty. (been there done that - lived in Southern California for a couple years, so I am well versed in shipping both ways).

Unlike Canada if it was made in the US, then it is duty and tax free to bring it into the states. As for Canada, we gotta pay taxes, border fees and duty on ANYTHING whether it was made here or not.

Do yourself a favour, take advantage of the favourable exchange rates, border savings etc., and get yourself a deal!

I bought my 48 cub in cananda. I went over and paid the guy loaded it up he gave me a bill of sale. came across the border they pulled me over to the side looked at the bill of sale seen the tractor was built in the usa and I was on my way.
since it was built in the states there was no duty on it. This was a very painless thing to do.
if you are truley going to do this just call the border patrol office and ask them what all the info and paper work you will need. If you are having a trucking company delivery it find one that has done this kind of work before. have fun with the tractor
