Will a Farmall H pull a 10ft pull type tadem disc? I've found a nice John Deere, I know that is a dirty word but they are hard to find, or would I be better off with a 8 foot.

Seven or eight feet will give your H all it wants. If it is wheel disk, it can be cut down to the right size. My JD neighbor is keeping an eye out for one for me.

For all practical purposes, no. If it is a wheel controlled disk, it will pull it shallow. We used only a 6 foot disk, but it was very heavily weighted. An 7 or 8 foot with little or no additional weight should work.

Aw, Comon' now CN,

I know you would set the cut angle rather than drag that thing around with the wheels down. :>)

Dat's what the city boys do. lol

Doesn't make any difference whether you set the cut angle or raise it up, 10 ft is too big. Best to have a max or near max cut angle and get the right size disk.

Your right. 10 ft was a good size for an M/Super M. Could run in 4th in stalk ground and 3rd in plowed ground.

Hi Ardie,

I don't know any red guys who cuss the John Deeres. However, the other camp seems a bit uppidty at times. :>)

Depends on what your discing and your soil. That old H is a little on the anemic side, don't forget. Love 'em to death, but they just wern't much for power.

Great in the hay field, small loader, a cultivator or rotary hoe, tho.

But listen, if you've got a lead on a nice disc, go get the thing. Ya know darned well you will be getting a bigger tractor down the road, anyway. :>)

Get your JD disc, I think you'll do just fine,

Allan

Ardie;

A ten ft tandem would be a little much for an H. We pulled an 11 ft. Krause with a Super M in 2nd or 3rd and it was all the old M wanted.
