Found the timing mark and got the timing dead nuts on and that got rid of the back firing back into the carb. On the other hand I still have the no run situation. Tractor converted to 12v. It will run forever just sittin there, but when you put it to work about half an hour later it will slowely die out. Some sugest lack of fuel. Have brand new sed bowl, fuel line, and carb.I took apark and double checked. Whistle clean! New 12v coil(non-resistor type)cap rotor wires plugs, distributor is freshly overhauled the only thing not changed is the condensor. I"m going to hook up my lighted spark testor to 1 cylinder and run it till it craps out just to see if I looses spark

had a similar same thing happen to me and it was a leaf the previous owner,or someone had let get into the tank.It would float around hidden apparently, and eventually partially block fuel.I was adding fuel thinking it was a fuel-o-holic,and wondering why it looked so full to be running out.I had checked screen in the elbow of the carb, firing, timing, all those things that made sense.I eventually got it filled enouph and peeped inside (thanks to a yt member's suggestion haha I think it was bus driver)and I seen the cherry? tree leaf debris.got that out and it was ok.

I notice you have it switched to 12V, and non-resister type coil. You still need a resister between the coil and points. If you"ve been sending full 12V to the points, they"ll be burnt, and the condenser fried.

Mine did that too it ended up being the butterfly on top of the carb. It had broken the weld that held it to the rod and would work fine till it got warm then stall out till it cooled down then you could run it again. Took it off and had a guy at work TIG it still working

My C did that. Replaced the gas cap with a new (free) one and it hasn't bothered since. One time when it died I removed the gas cap and I could hear the air being sucked in.

I know your coil is new, but if it quits when warm and starts again when cooled off, I would try another coil. I have had a lot of bad electrical stuff right out off the box.
