Am having problems with firing on 100 Farmall worked fine for months and started missing and 10 minutes later was towed to the barn (by my M John Deere) found the points arcing intermittently. Replaced points and cond. but problem remained. Found a crack in the coil and changed it and it is not firing at all now. Points dont seem to have the "bite" they should have. Any ideas would be entertained at this point. Does anyone have any experience with the solid state conversion kits?

Thanks JD

P.S. God bless the engineer that packed the distributor in by the oil filter canister.

I wonder if that coil is like the ones on the cub cadets..... IH has its own coil and nothing else seems to work.some thing about an internal resistor or something????? have CRS..don"t remember...but try an IH coil

Make sure you don"t have the lead from the condensor shorting out on the distributor housing. It"s easy to get it out of place in those tight quarters you have to work in. My bet is you got a bum coil. Make sure,if the tractor is still 6 volts and positive ground, that the lead from the distributor is connected to the + terminal of the coil

The C113/123 distrributer is easy to work on. Try the ones on the Ford 8N that are between the engine and the front axle. But, you will find it easier to work on if you remove it first.

Maybe you got a bad coil. Is it hooked up the same as the other + - . Check wireing. JON
