H belly pump has ND 30 weight motor oil, implement has a single acting cylinder to raise and was used with hydraulic fluid. I would like to continue using the ND 30 weight oil in the belly pump. Question is...do I need to drain all of the hydraulic fluid from the implement cylinder and hose, and if so, what is the recommended (easiest) way to do that? Or is it possible to just use it like it is and have the hyraulic oil mix with the ND 30 weight oil? Tractor will only be used with this implement. Thanks.

Just take the hyd hose off of the cylinder and flush the hose and cylinder out with gas, parts washing soultion etc. Put the hose back on, take the quick disconnect fitting off the end of the hose, compress the cylinder then fill it up with the correct fluid and reinstall the hyd disconnect fitting. That way you know that there is CLEAN oil in the cylinder.

I dont see what it will hurt all you have in your pump is gears and a ball and seat and valve. No plates or anything to get stuck up The only thing it might do is thin a little. I use hytrain from sams club and or 30 wt if thats all I have at the time and even down to 10 weight in the very cold months. JON

You can just hook it up and use it. The oil will mix and it won't cause any bad effects. I used Hy-Tran in my H belly pump and it worked fine...
