560 WINS!!!

I experienced the same situation 2 weeks ago at our local fair. I jousted my W-9 up against several JDs in the 7500# Classic Division and whupped them all using worn tires and one lousy pair of rear wheel weights. The best part of it all was that this all happened with my brother and five buddies watching.

I must admit that one of the tractors the W-9 had to go up against was a gourgeous 730D Wheatland. I had no aspirations of out-pulling this brute as I was spotting it 500# and new rubber, but when the rubber hit the road, the 730 managed to disqualify itself by slinging its clutch cover down the track. Sorry, bud. You lose any hardware and you're out.

As to the tires: I am told that new rubber isn't the end-all in tractor pulls. On hard, dry, dusty tracks, old tires with cracks, checks and flexy sidewalls bite like a deerfly at a cookout. There may be some merit to this statement.

I am retiring, too. Well...MAYBE!

Can I ask, are your tires loaded?

I always did think that the 560 had a better weight distribution than the 656, in fact, I always thought that this was kinda the 656's weak point.

I noticed you were up there pretty good as far as your weight class and was just wondering. Sounds like you've got that thing tuned to a fine line.

I don't know why this interests me so much; I'm not a puller at all; just have never had a desire to do it.

But, maybe it was that 730D you nosed out. Those things are really beefy down low in the hind quarters.

Do you remember how much weight you hung on her nose?

Sorry to keep bothering you, it's just nice to hear about an old 560 showing 'er strong character that way.
