Okay guys, I"m at it again. I posted earlier in the week and got some super suggestions, so now I need to locate an engine for the 560. Right now it is a diesel in dire need of an overhaul, injectors, fuel pump rebuild, etc. I only use this tractor about an hour a day feeding hay, so am seriously thinking of putting a gasser in it for simplicitys sake. Also they are a lot cheaper to work on. I once had a 291 out of a 706 in a 560, and somebody said a 263 would fit out of a comebine, so what other options are there, and who has a good gasser out there? I am down by Springfield, Mo. but am not afraid to travel a ways for an engine. Email me and we"ll get together. Thanks a bunch for all the help already. Harley

Basically any C-221, C-263, C-291, or C-301 out of a tractor or combine will work. They're all the same block. You'll might need a 60 series front cover and rear plate, but then again, your diesel also uses the same block design as the the gassers. I'd go for a C-291 out of a late 706, 756, 666, 766, or 686. The six-cylinder gas combine engines were not sleeved no matter if they were a C-221, C-263, C-291, or a C-301, so if anything bad happens, you buy a new block. The C-301 was never sleeved, and the C-221 and C-263 in 460, 560, 660, 606, 706, and 656 had loose fitting sleeves that could give trouble once in a while. The The C-291 took care of that problem with press-fit sleeves.

Since you"re in Springfield, give ruscha machinery a call over at Verona, Mo,He scraps out alot of combines that have just what you are looking for.
417-498 6571 or ttfrieburg@mo-net.com They are really nice folks there, I drive 300 miles to do buisness with them.

How much do you want for the old 560 engine core? I need a good core to overhaul my 560 diesel.
