I have a model 300 that needs either an overhaul, or a replacement motor. If I could find a usable motor out of an H, would it interchange? It rarely gets used hard, so a little loss of power would not be significant. There were quite a few H's in this area, although I don't know what a running motor would be worth. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I think the side support rails on your 300 are longer than the H"s. Guess you"ll have to measure.. I vote for a rebuild on the 300.

One more thing to add to what the others have said if you rebuild what you have then you have a new motor you know will last, if you put in a used one you don't really know what your getting. Brian

Dennis: Like Rusty I must ask why. Rebuild kit the way to go.

An H motor would most likely fit but why? An H motor in good condition would probably cost as much as the rebuild kit for your 300, and you would end up with less power.
