I have a 1945 Farmall A ,that was running fine untill I ran out of gas. I fill the tank and made sure there was no trash in the carburator. when I would first start it ,I would choke it and when it would pop of one time then I wouldopen choke then it would start right away. Now it will not start. It does have fire.Any ideas anyone?

My guess - float is hung up/stuck. Remove the drain from the bottom of the carburator to see if you have a good fuel flow. No fuel flow - rapp on the side of the carburator. If that doesn't work remove the fuel line from the carbuartor and check the fuel flow.

If you have a good fuel flow comming into the carbuartor but none out the drain you will need to take apart the carburator.

Ouch. If the carburator is ok, then suggest checking the points (point gap) and plugs.

If it was running ok until it ran out of gas - sounds like a fuel problem. Next would be ignition then compression.

Fresh out of ideas.
