You do not have to split the H to replace the clutch. Just remove the belly pump & drive shaft.

So you are saying that it makes no difference whether the clutch pedal is down or up? If that is the case, more than likely the clutch disc has become rusted to the flywheel. Try driving the tractor with the clutch pedal down, and try to make the tractor stop by using the brakes. This will usually work, may take several tries. If that doesn't work, the clutch may be replaced without splitting the tractor, but we can get into that later.

That is not right. You need the linkage to work right first. Are you feeling any pressure against the pedal as you press it down?

If not, then follow the linkage all the way into the bellhousing and see where it is either disconected or broken or out of adjustment.

If so, but it wasn't returning all the way back to the tranny deck (only comes two/thirds back), I would guess just a broken return spring.

If so, and the pedal returns all the way I would guess a stuck clutch plate like suggested above.

If you feel pressure (or more likely restriction) both ways (down and up), then check for a rusted pivot point on one of the shafts.

I hope some of this helps,
Stan(VA).

Try greasing the throwout bearing but you'll probably have to remove the clutch.
