I have read all I can find on the situation to no avail. My govenor was leaking so I removed it to clean and reseal. When I put it back on, it goes to full power at start up. (like she's getting ready to blow) I have the "notch in the slot" so that is not what I'm looking for. I even took the cover off my M to make sure it looked the same, it does...and the M runs great. I have taken this thing off and on about 10 times...nothing gets better....it ran great before the cleaning...it was just kerosene....please help! PS when I hold the rock shaft (accessed through the breather cover) down it idols smooth, but when I let it go, it moves on up and the rpms go through the roof.

When you rebuilt the carb, did you have the throttle shaft out? It is possible to install the throttle shaft on the other side of the pin stop, and it will work backwards. DOUBLE CHECK! ChadS

All is well with the carb...the tractor ran great before cleaning the GOV.....Something is allowing the "throttle shaft connection rod" to climb on its own...nothing seems to be holding it back...Thanks Chad.

You got me swinging then Can you move that little tang when its not hooked up to the carb.I mean there is nothing that worked its way in to that tube when you were cleaning that did nt come out. The tang is setting in the middle of the V on the carb . Have tryed loosen the screws that hold it on to the carb and twisting it back and forth the tube that is sometimes this happens to my H I guess it gets cocked a little and revs or will not Idle. JON

Yes I have, I have even bolted it to the carb, at the carb end before installing it, to make sure it was flapping the butterfly properly...I don't think that is it....
