Hi guys I worked most of the day getting that H motor stripped down had one piston and sleeve that didnt want to leave home. Had to chissel and grind it out. But anyways I noticed these blocks are different the old one has like two more soft plugs than the newer one. One behind the waterpump I think and one at the rear of the motor just under the head and its not the cam one either. I am going to use one of these blocks what one would you guys use the one with the soft plugs or the one without? I live in the northeast if that makes any difference. Also I went to Dollar General today and picked myself up a case of extra strength oven cleaner to use on paint and cleaning the heads and blocks and such I will let you know how it works out. JON

M.M. I just tore down the same engines- a 41 & 52 and found the same thing. The 41 with the freeze plugs had been leaking in the rear. I poped it out and it was all but rusted out. If you use the older block, I would try to replace the freeze plugs. ken
