Hello I just aquired a Farmall 140 with a serial number 22372 J. This was a one owner tractor owned by a Country Club. I was told that it was ordered without the PTO or Hydraulics. (Not Sure)

Anyway, This tractor was only used to pick up golf balls off the driving range its whole life, thus the reason it was order with any Power Take off.

I picked this tractor up today, it was in the storage area of the Golf Course. I removed the tarp, put a new battery (told the battery was dead earlier) on it and it started on the 5th pull of the starter. It humms like a sewing machine. One thing is it is very hard to shift and yes I am pushing the clutch fully in. The tranny seems a little noisy when going down a hill like a throwout bearing might be going bad. Any Ideas? Hard to replace?

Anyway, I am going to sell this tractor and what to know what I should ask (ball park price), and what is its specs and capabilities. I have searched the the 22372 J 140 number but come up with nothing...is it a 1963? 1964?

Thanks for ANY and ALL info,
--Brian from Kentucky.

Brian: With some Farmalls you have to look under Farmall & International catergory. Farmalls 130 and 140 are two of them. You will find without pto and hydraulics it will be a hard sell.
