I have waken a sleeping Super C and the touch control has been dry. Is there any point in filling it to see if it will work? Or is it a sure deal I should just rebuild the TC and Pump?

I agree with both geneb and parts man -- but, if it does work ok, replace the seal anyway, because it is hard to tell if it's leaking.

Put regular 30wt oil in the resivou8r before you run the engine as you dont want to run the pump dry. The seals on the pump cand let fluid right into the crankcase with the engine oil. Work the lift levers to work out the air that may be in the system. If the fluid level in the pump goes down after while it means that the seal is shot and needs replacing. Might have to instal a speedy sleeve on the pump shaft when replacing seal cause if the shaft is worn the new seal wont last very long.

I would say that there's no harm in trying!! It may have just leaked out while it was "sleeping". :) As long as it hasn't been running long with the pump dry, it shouldn't have done any harm. Once you fill it, keep an eye on your engine oil to make sure it isn't putting hy-tran into the block. ;)
