I have a mid 1970"s IH 2400b series skip loader. I have split the tractor and am at the point of removing the flywheel but I do not know how. I assume the big chunk of metal attached to the flywheel is a harmonic balancer. If anyone could help it would be appreciated.

Big chunk of metal? Describe it. Sounds like a torque converter. It will have to be removed to get access to the flywheel bolts. Might be a good idea to get a manual if you're this deep into it and having trouble.
