Hmmmm,

Vendor thought that this port block off a 350D might work on this little pump if I machined it down a little. 'Taint a gonna work 'cause the oil feed holes are staggered thru the block and I'd be cutting into the passeages.

Okay, I gotta just stop and think a minute; there must be a way to do this..... :>)

Allan, looks to me like you could drill and tap through each end, and pipe plugs are cheap.

Hi Red,

Yes, I just got back from kickin' on every machinist’s door in the county; nobody will touch it, so guess it is up to me.

Heck, doesn't look like that big a deal.

Thanks,

Allan

Allan, the original offer still stands. If you can't get that thing to work, or it doesn't fit, just let me know and I'll take it back, no questions asked. I'm not going to sell a man a boat anchor who lives as far from the water as you do.Later, Harley

I'm assuming the block is too wide as it sits in th epicture, and a fly cutter cutting out only the radius on the pump to get clearance will cut into the passages.

It would be easier to make a new block out of aluminum than to build a standoff to clear the pump.

Andy,

You hit 'er right on the head. Plus, on an H, the ports have got to come out of the block at a 90 degree angle because the frame rail sets so close.

Do you think a machinist could build one of these gizmos?

It's an easy job. The o-rings are in the pump, so all you need is one flat surface. Cross drilling to bring the ports out the side is no big trick.

In aluminum I'd go with straight threads instead of pipe threads to avoid galling. Then buy straight thread adapters with o-rings. You can get a 90 degree elbow, straight thread one side and swivel female pipe thread the other. That way you can run cheap pipe thread hose.
