Long arm loader vs. short-Help

I'm looking at a all hyd loader that has long arms that attach right in front of the rear axel (like a Farmhand F-11, but the cylinders are a little shorter and go a little past middle of the first arm section. Its a Koyker Super K). I'm putting it on a M w live HD. What are some of the pros & cons of a long loader vs a shorter arm one that mounts mid way to the front?

well the first year on my farm i didn't have a loader yet so i put a few hours on the neighbors m w/ a f-11. decent setup. then i got my 706 w/ a ih 2000 loader. i can move alot more faster but i dearly miss the reach. for my own purposes the 706/ 2000 combo suits me better now but i still need to find an h or m w/ a f-11 for when i just can't reach!

MM,

These 'long reach' things were originally designed to stack hay, which of course, has pretty much become a thing of the past.

That short geared loader you are looking at will, for all intents and purposes, serve your every need.

Hey Allen,
You ever stacked hay with a F-11? I never have, well sorta did one day. We used either a F-10 on a 656 hydro that was "turned around", or a DUAL 325 on an old Cockshutt 570 Super. By the way, what part of Nebrasky you from?

The long arm loader puts most of the stress on the rear of the tractor, pretty important on most of the older tractors, such as your M.
