Rarest IH tractor

The McCormick Deering W14 only produced around 1200 I think, so that would be a pretty rare find also.

Of the mainstream model Farmalls (Cub, A,B,C,H, M and their respective super siblings) The C was produced in far less numbers than any of the others.

I am sure someone has the exact #'s available, those are just a few facts I know off the top of my head, they should be close to accurate.

As for your attach on Dave, grow up. He was clearly using a figure of speech. It is possible to look at a lot of tractors, and many you can eliminate very quickly for various reasons. I can remember looking for a used skid steer loader 30 years ago. I must have looked at 2,000 of them, many nothing more than reading the add. I bought a new skid steer, figured I'd save driving and looking at machines not as advertized. Right today I am looking for a few items, and it surprises me the number of tractors not as advertized. Vendors of these can get away with this as they know 75% of old iron buyers, lack the experience to sort it out.

As for Dave and I, we come from two different old Euorpean stock of people, neither of which are noted for parting with their money very easily. That also is not very common anymore. You may laugh, but this has served us well.

I was just funnin around with the looking at 2500 tractors comments...I guess I took it as him physically looking at the actual tractor not just an ad.

I don't laugh at your parsimounious ways....heck I spent the better part of 4 days looking for the best buy on an exhaust manifold....and talked to 20 different suppliers.

The tractors I currently have are Super A, 130 and 140. I have 14 fast hitch implements, 2 sets of row crop cultivators, a snow blade and a Woods belly mower. All but two of the fast hitch implements are either partially or completely fabricated by myself or I hired someone to do it. If I count the time and miles I've clocked, plus the money spent, less what I've taken in as I have sold a few items, this entire collection is worth $35,000. Do you suppose I would ever get offered that for it? Not bad economics for a Scotsman. Is the Dutchman in MI laughing? Probably !!! I had hoped we would get another rise out of him.

I read in the Sept./Oct. Red Power magazine about Wayne Hutton's experimental "M", one of the test tractors that IH didn't scrap for some reason. Called an M8, it has a Hi-Lo shift and live PTO.It was at Red Power Roundup.
