After reviewing that picture in my IH manual I see a split bearing puller being used behind the pulley. They're using a 2-legged puller to pull from the split-bearing puller. Apply heat to the hub while tightening. Hal

If you're trying to pull the crankshaft pulley
my IH manual shows a 3-leg puller being used. Heat the hub of the pulley while tightening the puller. The flywheel is on the other end of the engine that has your clutch bolted to it. Hal

I just came in the house from putting the engine from my 'B' on an engine stand. On the 'B',and I am just assuming that an 'A' is the same, just remove the pressure plate and clutch disc, then you can see the four bolts that fasten the flywheel to the crank, remove them and the flywheel should pop off rather easy. You have removed the pressure plate haven't you? John.

Are you talking about the flywheel which is at the back of the engine, or do you mean the pulley on the front end that runs the radiator fan??

Alberta, That crank pulley can be a son of a gun!!! What you need is a split bearing puller. The puller needs to go behind the meaty part of the pulley, because if you try to pull from the fan belt groove you will crack that pulley easily. I believe Northern Equipment will have the puller you need. Some heat applied to the pulley will help also. I hope this helps, I know your frustation, because I had the same problem.
