Scott,

To torque any cast iron head on any cast iron engine, start in the center and work outwards in an ever enlarging circle. Torque in three ever-larger torque loads (sequences) with the last time thru being the spec setting.

Hope this helps,

Allan

I keep going around the pattern on the final torque setting until the fasteners stop turning. On some engines this may take a few passes. Then on an H I would suggest a warm re-torque of the head and a reset of the valves after a few hours of operation.

Something like this, don't remember how many studs there are.
14 12 8 10
6 4
1 2 3 5
9 7
11 13
