I'd like too get some input from anyone on a good source for purchasing a H battery box. Do all sources sell them with the rubber grommets and rubber bumpers or do the people who sell them cheaper not include these?

Thanks for your comments
Ed

Not to confuse the issue, but when I bought the battery box for my BN (from Val%^bilt) , I had to do a lot of work to make it fit. Hopefully those that bought an H box didn't have that problem. I would have paid a lot more to get one that was right. Fooled for two or three hours to make mine work.

Take Care
Steve

Steve - I had a similar experience (probably from place you got yours...) with a box I got for my Super M. The box was out of square by 1/4" or so - had to perform some body work to get the cover to fit. But more frustrating was the tapped bosses for the 1/2-13 cap screws that hold the cover/seat base on. These were tapped to some mystery screw thread - nothing SAE nor metric would screw into them. I finally cut them off and welded 1/2" nuts in their place.

OTOH the battery box I got at the same place for my Stage I Super H fit and worked fine. Only shortcoming is it did not include the rubber grommets/bumpers. But it was a simple matter to cob some up from materials I had around.

I have just the bottem part of the box. It is in great shape and ya can have it for $10 and shipping. Let me know if you are interested. I will not be using it as I have made a plastic box

I bought mine from OEM. It's a nice box but you have to buy the rubber bumpers separate. When I ordered over the phone they told me they would weld the bumper retainers on but they must have forgotten so I put them on with JB Weld.

Eddy, There is lots of place's to buy H battery Box's, Case/IH dealer sell them for around $80.00 an up. If you get Red Power there is a number of ad's that have them such as Carter & gruenewald Co Inc. - O.E.M Tractor Parts - Knights Tractor Parts - Pilot Knob Restorations - Mathis Equipment an Salvage -Alderson Tractors - Steel wheel Rench - an many more. Most all the Bone yard you find around the country have them as well. Price's very from place to place, only my two cents but I get mine from Case/IH for around $90 tax included within my State of Washington

And don't forget to check with the store that helps support this site! Click on the link below to see what is available. If you click on the "Sheet Metal" category you'll see the battery boxes. Here is a link:
