Aces, I have often thought of that question myself. I think I may be old enough a good opinion on that,, It is always a passion involved, Right?? In Pulling, we call it bragging rights, in our area, a nice restored Super MDTA is a conversation piece, not a hot rod. Most pullers, are tractors that are fence row specials, the people that find em, have the same passion to git r running as the ones who find them to restore to original. Pullers,, well we kinda gotta go against the grain, cause these tractors are not meant to haul grain anymore,, Most are parts and pieces, brought back to life, with technology that is unlocked, just like a Rubix cube, a puzzle. Just like finding the right precleaner jar for the ol M, I go looking for the IH part that will make my Hot rod 100% IH. and do something different. I dont know about 460 pullers situation, if hes killing 2 good tractors, or what have ya,, but if he has just parts n pieces,, Hmm, git the super glue, n duct tape,, see what goes together!! Like any other motorsport, there are enhanced versions far from what was meant to be, some dont like to see that happen to the equipment, I would say to that person, go out to a pull, and look that technology over,, they have bragging stories just like the guys who have the perfect original, or a big dollar tractor in demand. Its all about them not sitting in a pile, and rustin away. JMHO,, ChadS
