Mornin'About not being able to spin the engine on a 966's hydraulic clutch/TA system: I had said that the feller had got the tractor rolling and dumped the clutch to free the stuck engine. Wrong, that 'taint what happended, my mistake. :>( Anyway, this morning at first light I head back into town. I wanted that darned receipt in my hand! :>) The shop owner happened to be in there and I asked him about his story as everyone was crawling my tree about this and saying that it just 'couldn't be true'. He said that, “No, I didn’t say I dumped the clutch; it took me a long time to figure this trick out and it ain’t got nothing to do with the clutch”. “With the engine NOT running and no oil pressure, the low side of this type of T/A is pure mechanical. High side is not though and it still takes pressure to operate the high side.” “What I did was let ‘er roll halfway down the truck ramp and then reached up and pulled that stick back. This forces the rotation to grab against the sprag clutch in the T/A/planetary. That will bump the engine, and like I say, it took me a long time to figure this little trick out.” That be the story, just as I was told within the past hour. Now, I gotta get to work on these pictures. :>) Allan
