Maybe nit-picking, but what's with all the "2-point" business? It's a FAST HITCH, period. Fast Hitch implies 2-point, unless you're talking about a Cub or 100/130/140 of course, but still...

The owners manual I have calls it "Two-point Fast Hitch"

FAST HITCH is fast hitch, now there are several and they must be identified when describing them. One point large and small fork and 2 point large and small fork. Kind of makes 4 types to me.

When we use a semi mount mold board plow, it was a 2 point, and I have never seen a FAST HITCH on that, in fact it was kinda of a pain to hitch. So What was the point of this post :>)

A semi mounted plow on the lower two three point arms and a two point fast hitch are not the same. That wasn"t the point. Van

No, Fast Hitch DOES NOT imply two point. In fact, there were a considerable number of ONE POINT Fast Hitches made for Cub, 100, 130, and 140 tractors.

It is listed in the IH parts book as "two point fast hitch"

So by semi mount you mean that the plow has two arms that snap into the lift arms on the tractor. Then you have either a mechanical or hydraulic lift assist system to put down pressure on the tail wheel of the plow to help support the plow for transport.

You are right about the Fast Hitch not being fast. I had to back my plow against a tree to get the lift arms to snap in and chain it to the tree when unhitching. But it was a good plow

There isn't any 2 point equipment that will slide in or out if it is not taken care of. If the points have been sprung and do not line up then common sense tells you things are not going to slide in or out very easy. You also need to back into the points straight. A light piece of equipment is a little more difficult than a heavy piece but the advantage to me out weighs any little inconvenience.

The plow was the only Fast Hitch piece of equipment I had. There is a possibility the points were sprung but I think it was mostly operator malfunction. Anyway, thanks for the reply
