As mentioned before, if your willing to do all that work to take the TA out, just spend the money and replace the unit. If you ever want to sell the tractor, you will get your money back vereses trying to sell a tractor without the TA.

If you don't already have a shop manual of some type, get one. Copies of pages from parts catalog are helpful also. Use a splitting stand to safely roll the engine/front end out of the way. Also some type of hoist, to adequately support the center section (containing the TA), as center section is moved forward in order to remove it from the long pto drive shaft (which will stay with the rear transmission section), is a must. Get someone to help you. Sometimes those three short hydraulic supply tubes which have to come out , can be difficult to remove. Use small locking pliers (vise grips) to get a grip on them through an access hole and twist them back and forth to break them free. The entire TA removal and replacement job is not difficult for anyone mechanically minded or for someone who can follow directions from a repair manual. Happy wrenching !

You have to split the tractor in two places, and remove the lower transmission shaft to install the eliminator kit, the same as to install a rebuilt TA. Having done all this, and having to buy the eliminator, I can't see why not just spend a few hundred extra, and get a rebuilt TA.
