I have an 826D that is in good shape that I"ve been looking to sell or trade. Anyone know where I might be able to work out a trade on a 966 somewhere near TN? Thanks. ( I"ll try the classifieds also )

What are you asking for it? I may know of someone interested. I do not know anyone wanting to part with a good 966.

I posted it in the classifieds for $4600 or best offer. It has new rear 18.4*34's.

If someone offers to trade, run far far away. There is something MAJOR wrong with that 966.

I disagree with you on that one. They're both very good tractors, and I can think of reasons why someone would trade a good 966 for a good 826. Example- under light loads, the 966 is going to be very thirsty.

You don't know anything about my 826D. Both are 90+HP tractors although the 966 is heavier.

Horsepower's only half the issue. The 966 is a LOT more tractor. That D414 will walk all over a German diesel any day.

Don't get me wrong. If I had the opportunity to buy either one in decent condition at a fair price, I'd be all over it. In fact, I'd probably buy the 826 if I had choice of the two, just because I like the tractors from that era.

It's the whole "trade" concept that bothers me. The only person I can think of that would trade a 966 for an 826 is one with a 966 that's in dire need of a TA or some other major dollar repair.
