After 7 days and 3 hours, finally got our broadband systems back up and working.

The dialup connection was making an old man out of an old man! :>)

Whew,

Allan

I noticed on the original picture you posted that there was an array of 3 satellite dishes. Do you need all 3 for internet access? They sure did keep the Telstar 7 problem quiet. I did a google search for "telstar 7 malfunction" and only came up with 2 articles and they were both from trade publications.

Hi Marlin,

Yes Sir, we run a business across the web and the three of them are pushin' constantly, day in and day out.

That whole thing smelled like a kettle of raw fish. Yesterday all the Intel big-wigs were in Atlanta puttin' out three or four different stories at the same time.

All I know is, that it sure is nice to have 'em back up and runnin'. :>)

If you were working in your office as in RPM, you didn't need to stop to take breaks!

I used DirectPC for about 3 years and know how you feel. It's real hard to use dial up after having broadband. They finally got DSL up on the hill here and I went that way about a year ago. The speed down is about the same but the up is a lot faster. The only problem is when the DSL goes down I can't switch to dial up. In the last year my DSL has been down 3 or 4 times for about 12 hours each time. There were problems with my satellite setup also but it sure beat dial up.

Yeah,

Now I can get back to the important things like old tractors. :>)

How do you move your snow? A blade or blower on that 504? Got a Comfort Cover?

The City gives me the crappiest oneway city plow they have. I ride it until it dies or they get a new one and it rotates down.. Because street plows are unidirectional there are a lot of problems and clean up that is where the 504 comes in. For the walks I have a wallk behind blower on crawler tracks (Tracks because it looks cool). When I get up to my eyeballs and "Have" to get it open "RIGHT NOW" I call in the city with their big equiptment and endloader blower. I try to do it as much myself as I can. I stay as self dependant as possible. The city boys know it and when I call for help they are here right now. The last FBO called them off the street if he saw a snowflake. They hated him. Every spring I have a BBQ with the boys. We take care of each other.

Allan,

You are absolutly right about respect from the youngers. We need all the help we can get.

steveormary

About a 504. Looked at one a long time ago. Sorta termed it a glorified H. Just like our 3cyl.gas Ford 2000. I called it a glorified 8N.
