Guys - - Recently purchased a 1936 F-20 that had been dormant in a barn for some 30 years. Didn't run, but engine turned over o.k. Further investigation showed that when the clutch is depressed, I can only get the linkage outside of the tractor to move. The clutch internal to the bell housing is not releasing.

Do I have a big/little problem ? Any tips as to where to go from here will be appreciated. Thanx !

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM A FEW TIMES WHAT YOU NEED TO DO IF IT HAS ELECTRIC START IS TO PUT THE TRACTOR IN THE HIGHEST GEAR IT WOULD HAVE HOLD THE CLUCH PETAL IN AND START THE TRACTOR IT SHOULD BREAK LOSE BESURE YOU HAVE PLENTY ROOM AND QUICK ON THE KILL SWITCH IF NOT. I NEVER HAD ONE THE WOULD NOT UNSTICK THIS WAY.

Well hopefully you can reach in and clear any mouse nest you find, block the clutch open and rock the old girl good. I have had that system work. Once free use the tractor to freshen things up a bit.

You most likely have a mouse nest in the clutch housing, and over the years, things have rusted solid. Luckily the clutch on an F-20 is easily removed. You can probably just clean it up, but you might still have a sticky or grabby clutch.
