Picked up a core plug style heater to fit my 756 D with the 310 engine. Got it from the IH dealer. Ther are no actual directions, all the info says is on the Neuss built 3-4-6 cyl engines to install on the left side with the element in the 3 o'clock position. I don't see any core plugs to use on either side. Any help?

Thanks, but you know what? Mine don't have that core plug. Same engine, same bulge down the side, but no plug or even the boss where it could have been bored. Maybe an update or older model. Mines a 1970. I'd send a pic but I don't think it would turn out where its parked. Any advice out there.

Jimmy,

Are you talking about he head? If so, they must have made a head change somewhere along the line; mine sure doesn't have a plug back there.

There is however, a drain plug in the block right behind the fuel filters.

Redd,

Bingo. Mine is a '80 model.

I really don't think that they had this type of heater in '70, did they? I don't think these screw-in types came out until what? 1972? Wonder if it is a different manifold on your baby?

Somebody help us, 'cause Redd's tractor is getting cold (and you know what that means with a 310)!!!! :>(

I bouhgt one for my 460D about ten years ago. I think they're kind of a universal fit thing made in popular plug hole sizes which is fine if you have the plug hole.
