I asked the other day about an adapter for my pto driven hydraulic pump on my model m. I found one at a tractor store, it is a "long extension for farmhand & gresen pumps". Measures 1 3/8 x 6 spline male/female ends. 15" long.

It is harder to pull your socks on in the morning.

Pull your hydraulic pump off the tractor's PTO shaft, put the adaptor on in it's place. I like to put a 1/4" bolt thru the adaptor and the tractor's PTO shaft.

Then, just slide your hydraulic pump onto the extension and hook up your second implement back behind the pump. There should be a slot in the extension for your implement's PTO lock to slide into.

This sounds too easy. I don't even have to remove the existing shaft, simply connect it to the existing shaft? Wouldn't that make the shaft rather long?

BM,

The big end slides over the existing PTO shaft and it is a pretty 'exacting' fit.

I don't know what you are planning to hook to the extension. A mower?

I used these things so that I could use the loader tractor to feed with using a JD Chuck Wagon hooked on behind, so I wasn't at a great deal of throttle.

However, I can tell you that it ran true and it ran straight for many years on end.

Yes I am wanting to hook up a mower. I should be at a fairly low rpm. It just sounds so much easier than I was expecting. Thank you for the tips. I always enjoy reading this site. You guys are very helpful. I also enjoy seeing the photo's of your places and projects. Thanks again.
