I got that SMTA bought!!! Got it real reasonable too. Now the fun begins get it in the shop and see how bad the motor is. Can you pull a SMTA without hurting the TA? I got to get it home somehow and I don't have a trailer.

All Right Todd!!

Are the wheels in tight?

If ya get along okay with Larry Landreth, betcha he would let you use his equipment trailer but it is one of those "wheel well" things and I don't think his has a wench.

How far you gotta drag it? Don't see how towing it would hurt the guts of it, 'cause it should all be divorced in neutral, shouldn't it?

Unless the darned rear end is full of water..... :>(

I guess there goes my prior idea of having you trailer one for me..... :>)

If push comes right up next to shove, stop and ask Bob who does his hauing for him....he doesn't have a trailer either.

Allan

Allan I've got 15 miles to tow or haul it. I've got a tow bar that might hook up to the axle if not I'll have to hire someone to haul it. Im pretty excited about getting this tractor I've had my eye on it for some time. I guess patience does pay off.

Todd, I'm so jealous I could leap off a tall building. I've made a pass at several MTA'S but just wasn't my time yet, I guess. My brother has one in Iowa but doesn't want to let go yet. There is one in a barn not far from here been there for 14 years. The guy has no plans for it and says I'm first in line on it but doesn't need the money or space so "I guess Ill' wait a little while longer". Anyway if yours has a power steering unit on it make sure you cut the belt or open up the pressure side hose or you may do some serious damage. One quit on a tractor ride last summer and they hooked on and pulled it into town and pretty much destroyed the ps unit . Just thought I'd give you a heads up there.Migraine

If you can use secondary roads,(no freeways) you could rent one of those "front-end car carrier trailers..strap down the front end and tow it back...assuming the tranny is ok and the oil levels are ok in the rear assembly...it would be kinda slow...but it worked for me ( course I only had to go 5 miles!) Lotsaluck!!...Jim

Jim that is a good idea but the wide front is stretched way out as wide as it can go. I might just hire the local implemnt dealer if they arent to high if not I know a couple of guys who have trailers. I can't wait to get this outfit home and get to work on it.

Todd,

Henkins will haul the thing for you. 'Course ya gotta wait til you are at the top of their "things to do" list and I've found that their timetable and mine don't always move at the same rate. :>)

Wouldn't it be something if you could unstick the old sister and just put 'er to work? :>)

Does the tractor have power steering?

Allan

Allan it has powersteering a new clutch the TA works good . It was stuck and the guy pulled the piston and the sleeve came out with it so he quit right there. That I think is to my advantage. And it only cost $700.
