More questions,hopefully some answers! lol

What does the 300U use for oil (ND/HD?),how much does it hold? (C169 engine).
How much hydraulic fluid does the tank hold? Is there a fill on the pump itself,or just on the tank? What was the original front tire size? The previous guy has rotten old pickup tires on it.

you really need to get ahold of an owners manual, parts manual, and service manual for your tractor..... .it is the only way for you to take care of your tractor and not do any harm.....they are all available at this site or from bindersbooksdotcom..... ...best wishes, bill

A quality 10w30 if you are just putzing around with it.

A quality 30wt if you are working it.

Detergent for both.

It holds 6 qts. engine oil. Hyd. holds 13 qts. and is filled at the reservoir only. Front tires were origonally 5.50 - 16, but 6.00 - 16 looks better.

Detergent oil or Non detergent? With an oil filter I would think detergent. As I have no manual I am unsure of the weight as well.Seeing as how it would be for winter only,I would think a lighter weight...10,20,10-30?

Detergent oils were on the market when your tractor was built, although some diehard may have insisted on using non-detergent. On a tractor of unknown condition, it is best to pull the pan, valve cover and side plate on the right side of the engine, and clean out the crud, although the pan only may be ok. 10W-30 is ok in the winter, 30W in the summer. I run 15W-40 year around. I wouldn't mess with light weight single grades, such as 10 or 20.
