Anybody know if there was an offical place to store the crank for a H and M.I store mine in the tool box on each tractor as there are occassions where I use them.Seems like IH would have had a place intended for them.

The crank on my 42 H is attached permanent with a roll pin. I know it didn't come this way, it was this way when I stole the tractor. I like it, don't have to worry about my crank now.

I put mine on the transmission cover with the front between the steering post and the gear shift lever.

With the early easy ride seat I always put the cranck end between the platform and the bottom of the seat base and the handle upward in the seats channeled rearshock support.

We allways put them between the engine block and frame rail on the right hand side sitting in the seat.

Yes, our was always between the engine block and the frame of the engine. Don't know if that was the recommended by IH spot for it but it sure is a handy place for it if you don't have electric start.
