What are some of your ideas for a foot platform and pedal extensions for a buddy seat on a Farmall B??
I want to use this tractor to teach my grandkids how to drive a tractor and be safe about it. Nice for them to drive it in parades with me right beside them in the buddy seat.
I have the seat brackets etc. I just want some ideas for the platform. Thanks

Better start from scratch on the platform on left side as the bolt holes in the axle extension are not there so you cannot use an original without cutting off the rear so the bolt holes will line up in the fender and the trans case. You can make a u-shaped piece for the clutch to have a twin on the left side. If the brakes are locked together you can make some linkage to hook up on the left brake at the transmission so you would also have brakes. How far form IA CITY do you live? I could make the linkage and platform for you. e-mail bfarmall@netins.net

A young by the name of George from Fremont Ohio put two seats on a Cub along with a narrow front end that he pre-fabed, looked real nice. The seats looked to be both regular tractor seats with but with straight pipe's one into another with springs in-between the floor an the seats I believe so there would be some cushion. Been some time since I have see the pictures so I may be wrong somewhat

I put a seat on the left side of my B last spring.I bought the brackets and floor platform on e-Bay.On the floor,it took very little modification to make it fit the other side.I drilled out the spot welds that held the bracket that bolted to the fender and shortened it just a little and welded it to the other side.I also had to do a little trimming with the torch on the back corners of the platform to make them fit,but not very much. I did have to drill a hole in the fender for the bracket which was moved, but most of the bolt holes lined up if my memory serves me right. For the neatest part,I found a Model T running board at a swap meet, made a dog-legged brachet that bolted under the transmission and made a single step out of the running board that runs across the tractor from side to side.I've got the B torn down now for a re-furbishing,But I may be able to post some pictures if one of my boys come over this evening.John.

Thanks for all the good Ideas. I really appreciate the pictures.
I know this is not factory but sometimes a need causes one to move away from being exactly how it left the factory doors.

Click on Parts & Pieces and type Ken Koch in Search for: and click on a couple of pictures I posted there showing a little twist to the full size buddy seat. I did this for my small grandchildren so they would be safer. My 16 year old niece rode on the seat so it is quite versatile. The kids just love it!

Could you please tell me where you purchased the floorboard for the left seat. I have my grandfathers B and it measures the same on each side, so it should work. It is really a great idea.
