Took all of about a hour to get it apart. The pilot bearing is trashed like you guys told me it would be when I posted a few days ago. The drive shaft has a little wear on the bearing fit expectedly after 45 years but should still work OK. Probably has an extra .010-.020 clearance in the middle of the fit by eyeballing it with the new bearing.Splines look in better shape than I thought they would. Look like new. Cant detect any play in the engine main bearings or the bearings on the other end of the drive shaft. Thats good! Havent pulled the clutch apart yet. Now, there is a thin metal sleeve that fits inside the throw out bearing and rides overtop the drive shaft. The fit between the throwout bearing and the sleave is still good, but the sleeve is wallered out on the end where it rides over top the drive shaft splines. Plus I dont know how much is worn inside the sleeve where is rides over top the drive shaft. Is the purpose of this sleeve to keep the throwout bearing centered? I probably ought to spring for a new one of these too huh? Thanks and merry Christmas to all! Randy
