Hi,

Can you tell me if the: B275, 434, B250, B276, B414, have got a dual stage clutch. The type that when pressed halfway stop the wheels, and when pressed fully stop the P.T.O when engauged.

Regards.

Hi, the British built B275,B276,B414,434,444 had two stage clutches, the early B250 did not.

My "424" is set up with a dual-stage clutch, which was an option. A non-live PTO was also available. So you need to know how a specific tractor is set up. Even if it was available on that model, a certain tractor may not have it.

I am not sure, but I think the answer is no. I have considerable experience on a US built 444 (somewhat similar to the ones you mention), there was also a British version. I believe the drive trains were mostly the same (4-speed dual range transmission). I am so used to stomping the clutch all the way in, I am going to say no. I used the 444 mainly as a spray tractor, and I always had to coordinate and shut the sprayer valve or the pto on or off as I started or stopped. Otherwise I quickly got 100 lbs of pesticide where I only wanted one. In other words the clutch did not stop the PTO in any position, far as I'm concerned.

This is how they established a sort of 'independent' PTO. That way, instead of in an H or M, or B, or C... You can stop the wheels without stopping your implement.
