When the above fails, with the wheels still off the ground remove the starter, lock the fly-wheel and one rear wheel. Place a log chain at the six and twelve oclock positions on the out side of the other rear tire. Connect pullers and pull carefully in opposite (horizontal) directions. I have not done this myself, do not know of anyone who has and disclaime all liability for anything that goes wrong.

If he'd ever had an M apart he'd know you can barely even see the clutch plate buried in the flywheel behind the pressure plate. There is not much room to grab the transmission input shaft. And when the clutch is stuck enough that you know it, it likely means you've had it running and cannot stop the tractor by pushing on the clutch. That means you'd have to put enough force on the shaft that you can move the tractor. You'll have a tough time trying to free it by hand.

If you are uncomfortable using the brakes at low speeds like I suggested, by all means pull the clutch plate out, if it is in good shape clean it up and reinstall it or replace what is bad.

This is all assuming, of course, that you have verified it is adjusted so that depressing the clutch pedal will cause the throwout bearing to push on the pressure plate fingers.

I would repeatedly pull start it and brake as soon as it starts, then kill the engine and start again, all with the clutch pedal depressed. 2nd gear is fine.

Some clutches will come unstuck and some won't. Some that come unstuck will break parts of the clutch lining off and cause the clutch to drag, making repair advisable.

M's and Super M's can have the clutch plate replaced without splitting the tractor, but the pressure plate won't come out on the Super M. Cleaning the flywheel face and the pressure plate face is a little tedious on the Super M but can be done. It is good to learn how to re-clutch an M without splitting it so when you have a minor problem you are comfortable jerking the clutch out.
