Well it was...it was about 60 deg. today and I decided to cut up some land that I use for a food plot. My tractor and the 9 shank were covered in red mud. Had to clean her up real good before putting her away. It took me longer to clean then it did to work the land. I love this old tractor!

Back when I was a kid, I helped my uncle chop corn on his farm. Sometimes it would be really muddy so we chained the M ahead of the MH44 that pulled the Fox chopper. Talk about muddy! But to me, as a kid, that M was just as pretty muddy as when it was clean!!! I spent a lot of hours on that M years ago.

Im like bob I would have liked too see pic of mud nice looking machine. When there covered in mud it brings tears of joy to your eyes.

Never really have to worry about mud. I'm down in the sandhills so I get more dust than anything. I doubt that my M has ever had mud on the tires. Shame really. But she does look good with her work clothes on.

What town are you in? I was down looking at land southeast of Asheboro at Cristmas. Haven"t found the perfect new home yet, but like the area a lot. My bride and I are looking to retire down there in about 4 years. We hope to find 10 acres with some tillable to keep the farmall "fleet" busy. Glad to know the area has red tractors.

Cumberland County, Hope Mills just outside of Fayetteville. Nice country but houses are taking most of the farms where I live. Still have 100 arces that won't see any housing development for as long as I can stand it. As far as Red Tractors, there are plenty of them. Hope Mills hosts a tractor pull every Oct. You would think that it was a Farmall Pull from all the red that comes out to play!

Geoff,
I live in Asheboro. What county southeast of Asheboro were you visiting? Moore, Harnett, Cumberland, Scotland? Or were you way further east like near the coast? Lots of folks from NY retiring to NC where they can enjoy 4 seasons.

We were down by Lake Lure, Rutherford County. We are wanting to do our next trip further up, Asheville, Blowing Rock, Boone. I like the foothills, my bride likes the coast. Her sister is in Charlotte, too crowded there for me. I found some great sites for real estate, wish we had more time to look around, but we have about 4 years til we can move so... we"ll keep searching.

Geoff,
Small matter of similar town names. You were way west of where I live. I live in Asheboro which is in the geographical center of NC. You were near Asheville, which is in the Western and mountainous part of NC. The Lake Lure area is quite beautiful. Asheville is about 200 miles west of Asheboro. North Carolina is about 600 miles long from west to east.

here in western NC we had a IH plow day. last year we had twelve red and we turned about 20 acres it was great!!!!! !!!!! !!!!! !!!!

Where in NC are you boys? I'm in Asheboro, about 30 miles north of Robert's Sandhills.

Another question: Dennis, what kind of hardware showed up for the IH Plow Day? Big tractors? Little tractors? Old Tractors? Not so old tractors? Do you fellows belong to a Farmall/IH Club Chapter? Are there Farmall/IH Club Chapters in NC?
