I asked this question before and I am asking again. What is the float level foe a Carter Carb? I know you turn it upside down and measure from carb flat surface to the float. Is it the bottom of the float or the top? What is the height (17/64" ?) ? I checked my service and operators and it does not say a thing about Carter carbs. I must sound like an idiot but I just want to get her running without backfiring and dieing on me. Thanks in advance. Happy New Year!!!

I also have a Carter carb on a Super A and am having lots of trouble with it overflowing (see board entry 1/5/05). I have always heard that the gap between the float and the upper housing as you hold it upside down should be uniform across. It seem that 1/4" would be huge, although what do I know. My Super A WAS running pretty well before it started to run rough and then not start. All electronics have been replaces so the flooding out the hole in bottom of carb in air intake side looks very suspicious, but I can't stop it. Pete in Bend, OR
