I have found a soapy water drip from the cover plate on the rear of the clutch section on my M. looks just like water and oil milk. Ive seen posting about a rusted frost plug, and am thinking that it sounds indicitive of my symptoms. Id like to know if theres a way to see the plug(s) w/o splitting the case, like removing the pump section. Are there any gotchas with respect to removing the pump section? Will leaking water get int any systems in the cluch section that can cause havoc later on (rather than just messing the garage floor). Also, whats the big boss on the bottom of the pump section for? are there implements that attach to this?

I'd start looking at where the water and oil mix is. the motor? the trans ? the hyd sys? or just the clutch housing.

First, the soft plug is behind the flywheel, so taking out the belly pump won’t get you what you are looking for. If the plug is rusted through, with the pressurized system it will eventually blow a larger hole in it. There really aren’t any “gotchas” on taking out the pump.

The "gotcha" is in getting the pump back in. It is an easy two person job but a little challenging alone. You are supposed to make two T-handles with keystock welded to fit the keyway in the holes on the boss. When I finally got around to making the T-handles, it makes the job much easier. One man with a floor lift or two men install the pump. Use grease to hold the pump drive coupler in place and be ready to pick it up a few times and clean it off.

I don't think the blanking plate for the tractors without Lift-All have the boss so I don't think it would be for implements. The pump is only held in by the four bolts.

With no hydraulics at all, there may not be a boss. The H/M, Super H/M with belly pump, and stage 2's with live hydraulics have that boss. It is for attaching arms to hydraulic cylinders for both front and rear mounted implements.
