My H oil pan drain plug was stuck so I had to drill it out to change the oil, but a standard 1.0 inch plug is too big, and a 3/4 inch plug is too small. So what is it? Case/IH dealer said plug is $12.00 which seams very expensive for a simple thing. Can this plug be purchased at a hardware store? Thanks.

Standard H plug is 3/4 pipe plug, less than a dollar in any hardware stor. Sounds like you have a plug like this and maybe a pan off a Super H or 300.

I thought they were standard pipe plugs.

You might check again to make sure you had a 1" and a 3/4" and not a 1-1/4" or 1/2".

If you can get away from any parts counter for under $20 you had better do it. $12 for a drain plug is not bad, plus you are guaranteed it will be the correct one.
