Is Grand Forks part of Canada ? What a hockey game that saw the Canadian Juniors defeat Russia. Anyway it looks like Canada adopted Grand Forks, from all that the media is carrying here Grand Forks was a wonderful host for the World Junior Championship. The folks in North Dakota were wonderful hosts and seems they all cheered for Canada along with the thousand of Canadians who went"south". Thanks North Dakota from a true north hockey fan..Mike in Exeter Ontario( I didn't go to the Exeter Hawks practice tonight, I stayed home to watch the Game!)

Mike: I live in East Grand Forks, MN (-35F) and I was lucky enough to score a couple of tickets for last night's game. What a blast! Your fellow countrymen really know how to attend a party! It was one of the nicest displays of support and love for a team that I have ever seen, and doubt that I will ever see again. I cannot even imagine any sporting event where the USA fans would be so fervent in their support for their team. We really do not understand what it means to be a true hockey fan. I am just glad I got to share the experience with you all. I met many of your countrymen and I just want all of you Canadians to know we really appreciated you coming down and having a great time with us. Congratulations on the gold medal...your team really deserved it!

Mark

Who couldn't be a hockey fan after being in that fabulous Engelstad Arena. I have a friend that has a suite there - it is awesome.

The Engelstad has 2 sheets - one just for practice. It is supposedly the nicest arena in the country, college or pro.

Spent eight years there in Grand Forks as a guest of the AF. That Engelsted arena is awesome, big bucks spent on that one with the marble floors and walls and all. Went to a Tim McGraw concert there before I moved back south. Van

Bob, that's for sure a cold morning. I like North Dakota, have been there a few times, had some relatives up at Absaraka(SP?) not far out of Fargo.I do have some relatives around Grand Fork but have kind of lost track of them. Stay warm aand don't send that cold east, we have had three very milld days here and our snow is all but gone, forecast for more snow today though..Mike in Exeter Ontario
